Canmore Adventure Elopement

This Canmore adventure elopement didn’t stop just because it snowed in winter!

Breanna and Shawn braved the cold for an amazing vow renewal elopement shoot in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Calgary is such an outdoorsy city no matter what time of year. We were inspired by the adventurous spirit of Alberta even in winter, and wanted to photograph that in a Kananaskis winter elopement near Canmore. We reached out to some amazing local creatives, and together we all brought the adventurous spirit of the Canadian Rockies to life. Our couple Breanna and Shawn had a destination wedding in Mexico a few years ago, and we knew this would be a completely different experience for them! Winter in the Alberta Rockies are unpredictable, and we had not one but TWO twin snow storms hit the day before the Canmore photography shoot. Like real adventure elopements though, we trooped it out and had a true winter wonderland in Kananaskis Country.

Just because you’re eloping doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate sweet details into your elopement photography. We set up a cute display featuring beautiful winter floral arrangements made by Wild Magnolia Floral that captured adventure. The adventurous calligraphy quote from bygianlee featured a mountain silhouette of the Three Sisters, a set of mountains in Kananaskis Country and Canmore, Alberta.
