Hiking in the mountains, an oceanside ceremony, and some of the most tearjerking vows sums up this adventurous elopement for Squamish wedding photographers!
Squamish Wedding Photographers for an Adventurous Elopement
Squamish is full of outdoor activities and things to do for your adventure elopement, but it’s often overlooked by nearby Whistler. As Squamish wedding photographers we find this area relatively more quiet compared to Whistler, though, making it one of the best places to elope in British Columbia. Kirsten and Michael agree, and we were stoked when they chose Squamish as their elopement destination!
Exchanging Vows at a Seaside Ceremony
Before their seaside ceremony, Kirsten and Michael had a first look on the beach. First looks are a great opportunity to get all the nerves out before your ceremony, and also allows Squamish wedding photographers to capture a couple more photos of you!
They exchanged personal vows during their ceremony as the calming ocean waves of Howe Sound filled the air. Kirsten and Michael’s vows were heartfelt and sincere; we don’t think there was a dry eye around… including us Squamish wedding photographers! Nearby campers cheered them on as they tied the knot for their first kiss.

Granite Cliffs and Old-Growth Forests
The sun broke through for a few minutes and we soaked it up along the shores of Howe Sound. Afterwards, we started hiking up a nearby mountain and along the way we stopped and took in the massive granite walls around us. Squamish is the rock climbing mecca of Canada, and for good reason! We all stared up in awe at the cliffs and towering old-growth forest above.
Views of Howe Sound for Squamish Wedding Photographers
We made it to the top, where we broke out of the thick forest and 360-degree views of Howe Sound awaited us. The towering peaks in the distance seemed tiny in compared to the ocean below. Squamish wedding photographers know that this area is full of great viewpoints, and this hike was no exception! Clouds loomed overhead, but the rain kept at bay for Michael and Kirsten’s adventurous elopement. Their elopement was the epitome of what makes the Pacific Northwest great: Mountains, ocean, and lush green rainforests.
