The night before their Mexico elopement, us two Baja wedding photographers took Shay and Sandy out to the Sea of Cortez for some laughs in the desert!
Baja Wedding Photographers in La Ventana
These two had big plans for their Baja elopement in La Ventana. Kite surfing, tacos, and cruising in a 4×4 ultimate adventure rig just to name a few! But the night before we decided to explore northern La Ventana and hang out at the Sea of Cortez. This was a great way to warm up in front of the camera for Baja wedding photographers, plus it was a ton of fun!
La Ventana in Baja California, Mexico
La Ventana is a little town situated on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California, Mexico, and is best known for its world-renowned kite surfing winds. Every year Shay and Sandy come down to Baja with their friends to kite surf, but this year they planned to make the trip extra special. Having explored Baja California in our camper van before, we knew the desert well as Baja wedding photographers and were so excited to join them on their adventure elopement of a lifetime!

A Desert-Meets-Ocean Engagement Session
We followed the dirt roads of La Ventana as far as they could go, and found ourselves where the lush green mountains met the turquoise ocean. The weather was warm and the air was salty; a perfect night for their Baja wedding photographers engagement session.
After hanging out and goofing around in the Mexico hills, we decided to venture back past the hot springs to enjoy the moon rise out of the Sea of Cortez. In the Baja California hills we were sure to keep an eye out for a couple tarantula burrows or two!
The Perfect Sunset for Baja Wedding Photographers
The moon rose over the Sea of Cortez as the sunset lit up the clouds in a shade of cotton candy pink. It was the perfect night for Baja wedding photographers because of the soft golden hour light. Plus, Sandy brought his drone out and we were able to capture a few fun shots of them from a bird’s eye view!
We finished the night drinking beers and watching dusk settle on La Ventana and the Baja California desert. It was a perfect relaxing night, but the best adventure for them and their Baja wedding photographers was yet to come.
