The Gathered Calgary Wedding Venue
Ariana and Matt were looking for a Calgary wedding venue that was rustic and whimsical for their big day. Just outside of Calgary, The Gathered checked all the boxes. This family-run farm was exactly what they wanted; old-fashioned twinking lights that lit up the tent at night, rustic furniture, and even a chicken coop and sunflower garden! All of the food catered by The Gathered is homestyle and locally sourced too. As Calgary wedding photographers, we can honestly say this was the BEST food we’ve ever had at a reception before!
A DIY Calgary Wedding
The couple and their families went above and beyond to bring Ariana’s dream of a whimsical lavender theme to life. All of the desserts were made from scratch by loved ones, including the cute wedding cake! All of the calligraphy was done by the bride’s talented friend, Sunny Wang. Ariana’s veil and the sari wrapped around the ceremony arch was what her mother wore on her own wedding day. Even the singing and music was performed by a loved one as Ariana walked down the aisle.

Farm Wedding at The Gathered
There was not a dry eye in sight as Ariana walked down the aisle. The Gathered has a beautiful space for intimate wedding ceremonies. After the sweet ceremony, we took full advantage of the bountiful garden and wheat fields for photography.
When we began photos of the bride and groom for this Calgary wedding, thunder boomed in the distance and the wind picked up. A storm was on its way to The Gathered. These two fully embraced it, though, and we could tell they were so excited to be married the weather didn’t even matter!
We can’t stress enough to future brides that rain on your wedding day truly does not matter! The right photographers will work their magic and you’ll get beautiful photos no matter the conditions. Plus, we absolutely love how the wind flowed through the tulle of Ariana’s Sarah Seven wedding dress from The Bridal Boutique. Rain and wind bring a whole new mood to wedding photos, and can really make the image pop. Trust us, if you see rain and wind in the forecast for your Calgary wedding, it’s awesome!
Dancing The Rainy Night Away at The Gathered Farm
The rain poured down the rest of the evening, but that didn’t damper the mood of this Calgary wedding. Under The Gathered’s clear heated tent illuminated by Edison bulb lights, everyone danced the night away. After a midnight snack of donuts made fresh on the spot, it was time to wish these two goodbye for their honeymoon trip to Italy the next day! Everyone gathered in the rain and sent the couple off with a magical sparkler exit. A whimsical end to Matt and Ariana’s rustic Calgary wedding at The Gathered.
