Canmore Hiking Elopement Photographers in Kananaskis

We hiked over 18km and gained over 1000m with Julia and Evan for these panoramic views during their Canmore hiking elopement. As hiking elopement photographers we have hiked a TON of trails, but this is by far my favourite. It has a little bit of everything: alpine meadows, hands-on scrambling, and mountain peaks for dayz.

Hiking Elopement Ceremonies

Julia and Evan stayed at Mount Engadine Lodge for their elopement. Engadine Lodge is located right in the heart of Kananaskis Country with countless trailheads nearby, making it the perfect basecamp for a Canmore hiking elopement. They had an intimate ceremony in the meadows beneath the lodge and signed all the fun legal paperwork before heading out on a hike. Since most officiants don’t want to hike, having your ceremony before you hike is the easiest way to do the legal portion on a wedding day! With that said, as Canmore hiking elopement photographers we know some amazing outdoorsy officiants up for anything that we can recommend for you.

We all hit the trail that afternoon with wedding clothes, beer, and flowers all packed. Liam and I have done this trail many times as Canmore hiking elopement photographers, but with Julia and Evan having both been geologists we learned so much more about this landscape than we ever had before!

Alpenglow

Near the top of the hike, Julia and Evan read letters from their families over a picnic dinner drinking their favourite beer and exchanged handwritten vows. A sea of summits expanded all around us all the way to Mt. Assiniboine in British Columbia and beyond. As the sun dipped into the west, all of the peaks were awash in alpenglow. The sun set into the horizon, and we knew it was time to say goodbye to this majestic place. Also, it was hella windy 😂

Headlamps a’ beamin’ and infomercial jingles a singin’ (you know, to ward off grizzlies 🐻), we made our way back home with tired feet and happy hearts. Julia and Evan love exploring the outdoors, and they made it a priority for their Canmore hiking elopement. Mission achieved!
