Courtney and Matt decided to elope just the two of them at Lake Louise for Valentine’s Day. They travelled from Florida, but they braved the cold for their Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise wedding photography in winter. They went from +30°C in Florida to -30°C at Lake Louise!

The cold weather of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise wedding photography in winter comes with benefits though. Regardless of time of year, Lake Louise is usually bumping with visitors, and with these views we don’t blame them! We soaked in the entire lake to ourselves, though, thanks to the cold weather. No skaters, skiers, snowshoers, or onlookers about. A real frozen treat. The Lake Louise ice castle glistened in the morning light and the wedding photos looked straight out of a winter fairytale.

Keeping Warm at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise Wedding
To keep warm we dashed in and out of the hotel for their wedding photos in winter. Lilies and Lace did an amazing job with Courtney’s wedding hair and makeup, making sure that her look could hold up to the mountain cold. As guests of the hotel Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was also kind enough to let us wander the halls and rooms for wedding photos during their elopement.
The morning sun rose in the sky and cast warm light through the forests. The snow sparkled and we all couldn’t believe how beautiful Lake Louise could really be. It truly looked like a scene out of Disney’s Frozen! It was an honour to capture Courtney and Matt’s Valentine’s Day elopement at Lake Louise.
