James and Hayley’s wedding day started with rain in the morning while they got ready at the Pomeroy lodge, but the weather quickly became blue skies! The Canadian Rockies have unpredictable weather, and Kananaskis Country is no exception. Never fear if you see rain clouds in your wedding day forecast, because they may not last long!

By the time they finished getting ready with their loved ones, the skies had cleared for their wedding ceremony at the Kananaskis Village viewpoint overlooking the valley below. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house for Hayley and James’ wedding vows! Their ceremony was even more special, because their best friend was able to officiate their wedding for them!

Candid Wedding Photos

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the lush green forests around the Pomeroy lodge for their Kananaskis wedding photography. Hayley and James were all about candid photos that showed their goofy side and playful personalities, and as adventurous photographers we couldn’t agree with this sentiment more! These two were so much fun to photograph, and there was never a dull moment capturing their big smiles and fun personalities.

Best First Dance Song Ever

Their reception was warm and full of laughter as Hayley and James danced to ‘My heart will go on’ by Celine Dion for their first dance. To top it off, their bridal party rocked the riff on recorders at the same time! Best. First dance. Ever.

We snuck out of the reception party (and it was definitely a party!) to catch the last bit of sunset with Hayley and James. It was the perfect way to sneak in one last look of Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge’s views on their wedding day.
