Skiing on Your Wedding Day!
Would you go skiing on your wedding day? Sarah and Matt did, and their ski wedding photos were one of the most wild things we’ve ever done for a wedding before! As Sarah put it, “What is more fun than a ski hill? Trapping all your family and friends on a mountain is like a group ski trip people can’t say no to.”
Their wedding was in late April, almost guaranteeing some warm spring skiing. It hadn’t snowed in weeks, so the venue even put away their snow plows for the year. But a wicked storm was in the works for Sarah and Matt’s day with over a foot of fresh snow! When the coordinator asked if they wanted to move their ceremony inside, there was not a chance Sarah and Matt were going to pass up embracing the snow! They were getting married at a ski resort and wanted ski wedding photos after all.
These two skiied on their wedding day, and rode motorbikes for their engagement photos!

Snowy Wedding Ceremony
Their friends and family gathered on the deck looking out over Sunshine Village in Banff National Park as Sarah and Matt tied the knot. Snow fell and created flecks of bokeh in the photos, one of our favourite parts of shooting in snowy conditions as skiing wedding photographers! Can you see the snowflakes in the photos?
Ski Wedding Photos at Banff Sunshine Village
Still dressed in their wedding clothes and bouquets in hand, Sarah and Matt’s bridal party were stoked to hit the slopes! These friends were up for anything. We all skied down together, snapping shots as we went. Sarah and Matt were troopers even in the winter snowstorm, and we were sure to get a few shots inside after the run alongside their ski wedding photos. The best part? No suit pants or dresses were torn in the making of these photos 😉
These ski wedding photos at Sunshine Village in Banff proves that even if you plan a wedding you can still do what you love. For Sarah and Matt, this was catching a day on the hill, and they wouldn’t have had it any other way.
