Adventure wedding inspiration | Stawamus Chief, British Columbia | Film & Forest Squamish elopement photographers
These two incorporated two things they love to do together for their pre-wedding photos with Squamish elopement photographers: hiking and archery!
Squamish Elopement Photographers Hike The Chief
This day was all about adventure, and as Squamish elopement photographers we’re always down for getting outdoors. Willis and Amy incorporated everything they love into their pre-wedding photos with us, and they couldn’t have picked a better location! The Chief is a short hike right in the town of Squamish, but involves some serious elevation gain.
Archery Wedding Photos
Not only did Willis and Amy hike for some epic elopement photos, they also did Japanese archery wedding photos! Amy and Willis practised traditional Japanese archery (Kyudo) in the rainforest before hiking up the Chief for sunset. With all of us being huge Lord of the Rings fans, being surrounded by the mossy forests of the Pacific Northwest with their archery bows gave these Squamish elopement photos major Fangorn Forest vibes! Even Legolas would approve ππΉ

What Is The Most Important Thing to Capture in Elopement Photos?
When we first meet with couples, we always ask one important question on every call. What is the most important thing for you to capture in the photos?β
Amy and Willis gave one of our favourite responses ever: getting to experience each other and supporting one another. When you hike, you truly get to help each other through the (literal) ups and downs.β
Hiking and Marriage: The Perfect Metaphor
Hiking really is the perfect metaphor for what marriage is all about. Making a commitment to support one another, whether itβs motivating your partner to keep pushing up that steep hill on a hike or conquering that hill in a rough patch of life. There may be lows on the way, but once you reach the summit it’s always worth the highs.β

Looks like an incredible all day adventure. I really love the archery photos! You make me want to road trip and explore Squamish even more.
Squamish is a must-visit if you’re a rock climber! But also nice to explore the outdoors and escape Vancouver too.

You had me at marriage and hiking metaphor, HOW right you are. AND omg Squamish i think is an overlooked jewel of BC, beautiful capture and wonderful story
It totally is! Whistler definitely gets all the international hype around it, but Squamish is much cooler and has a more local feel to it.
Archery??!!! Okay coolest couple ever. All of these images look like they are straight out of a movie, absolutely stunning work!
Agreed, Lord of The Rings for sure.
Such a unique elopement day! It’s amazing when couples implement things that are unique about their relationship to their wedding day. I’m in LOVE with these photos!
Totally agree! We think it makes wedding photos so much more personal when you do something you love for them.
I love all the landscapes you capture in the middle of the adventure. And I love how nature and organic your visual storytelling is1 This is beautiful!
