Clear skies, a warm summer sunset, and the entire hiking trail to ourselves. We couldn’t ask for a better night hanging out and adventuring with these two.
Location Scouting for the Perfect Hiking Engagement
Location scouting is a huge part of what we do and what we offer to couples. We spend hours scouring for unique places and hidden gems in Kananaskis and beyond. When Natasha mentioned that they’d like to do a hiking engagement photography session with mountaintop views, we knew the perfect place. We had been keeping this hike in mind for awhile; it was a grind, yes, but views of Kananaskis Country were quickly in sight within 30 minutes on the trail. Not only that, K-country is slightly less crowded than its neighbours Banff and Canmore, with just as equally-rad views.

We met Natasha and Kyle along the Kananaskis lakeshore, and took advantage of some epic reflections before starting the hiking engagement photos.
When we showed them the mountain views, Kyle mentioned how they never would have found this place if not for this hiking engagement photography session. For us, this is one of our favourite parts about what we do; sharing the places we love. It means the world to us when we can inspire others to get out and explore the Canadian Rockies while learning to respect the land and following Leave No Trace principles in the process.
What to Wear for a Hiking Engagement
These two dressed to the nines for their adventurous hiking engagement photography. We always recommend wearing outfits that complement both your partner and the landscape when couples ask us what to wear for engagement photos. Natasha’s gorgeous pink dress complemented the soft pastel blue skies and alpenglow mountains perfectly. They also brought multiple outfits to wear (both casual and more formal/elopement photography-style) to add more variety to the final hiking engagement photos.
After a warm summer sunset in Kananaskis Country, we made our way back down through the forest back to the cars for this hiking engagement.
