Lake Minnewanka + Johnston Canyon Adventure Elopement
These two travelled from across Canada to elope in Banff, Alberta. They had a sweet ceremony officiated by Robin White at Lake Minnewanka with a few close friends, followed by some fun adventure wedding photography in Banff’s douglas fir forests and an hike to Johnston Canyon afterwards.

The bride and groom originally wanted to have a Moraine Lake elopement, but with the Moraine road being closed this time of year we suggested Lake Minnewanka instead. As adventure wedding photographers, we location scout and help couples as much as they need to find their dream locations. With Lake Minnewanka’s expansive views and Johnston Canyon’s adventurous hiking elopement spots, they were sold!
April in Banff National Park has unpredictable weather, but we lucked out just enough to have a break in the rain for Roxane and Nicholas’ adventure wedding. These two trooped through the mud for epic elopment photography at Johnston Canyon, and if there’s any time to let your hair down and get your dress dirty this is it!
We love adventurous couples who aren’t afraid to get their boots dirty during their elopement, and this Banff adventure wedding was no exception! Congrats Roxane and Nicholas 🙂
