Winter elopement inspiration | Canmore wedding videographers | Film and Forest Photo + Video
This outdoorsy elopement highlights their adventure of a lifetime from through the perspective of a Canmore wedding videographer and photography.
Canmore Wedding Videographer Perspective
A Canmore wedding videographer can capture your vows and tell your love story in a completely different way than photography. Being able to listen to your vows word-for-word years from now is something even photography can’t beat. That’s why we have officially begun offering both photo and video packages all in one! We were inspired by the tranquility of winter while still being able to explore the mountains, and wanted to showcase how you can still find adventure any time of year with this inspirational shoot!
Mountain Elopements in March
Eloping in the Canadian Rockies in March is still possible, albeit a bit snowy. If you’re looking for a winter elopement but don’t want to brave the cold, early spring can be a great option! The mountains still have snow, but Canmore doesn’t reach the -40 Celsius temperatures that January and February see.

Pre-Ceremony Adventure
With this inspiration shoot we wanted to show that you can still experience adventure on your wedding day, even if you don’t plan to hike in a wedding dress. These two hiked through an icy canyon and enjoyed a home-brewed coffee in the morning before getting ready for the Canmore wedding videographer shoot.
Cutting the Wedding Cake
After exchanging handwritten vows, Matt and Ariana enjoyed sunset views of Canmore’s famous mountain peaks known as the Three Sisters. Just because you elope doesn’t mean you can’t tie in traditional wedding elements into your day, either! Matt and Ariana celebrated ‘cutting the wedding cake’ with artisan French desserts from Le fournil Bakery.
Chocolate cake and dusky forests made the perfect end to this Canmore wedding videographer shoot! A big shoutout to Matt and Ariana for helping us with this winter elopement inspiration. We had the honour of capturing their wedding day at The Gathered a few years ago, and it was so much fun to hang out and capture their love again!

You did a great job of documenting this entire day from the coffee date to the desert by lantern light picnic at the end. I love how these photos turned out!
Can never go wrong with some gourmet French desserts to finish off your day 🤗
Gorgeous video and photos! You really show that you can make your wedding anything you want it to be.
Thanks Sydney!
Wow. I love everything about this. The photo of their boots and micro-spikes is my favorite since it definitely shows how adventurous their day was!
Haha yes! Micro spikes are a must for hiking ice canyons, but you’d be surprised how many pairs of unsuitable footwear we saw while there.
This wedding elopement looks like a fairy tale to me. The location, storytelling, the activities they were choosing just a big WOW for this work!!!!
Thank you!
You always do an awesome job Afton– these photos are amazing and I love the lanterns & the shot of him tying the back of her dress. You did an incredible job with the whole day!! <3
Thanks Heather, it was fun to play with something different for a change with the lanterns 🙂
There is something magical about winter elopements. Love the coziness contrasting with the snow. If I could do it all over, I would hire a videographer. I love that you are adding this to your packages as an option, and hope more couples go in that direction ❤️
That’s so interesting you feel that way; Liam and I are in the stages of planning our OWN elopement and we initially did not hire a videographer. Now we are changing our minds!
This is so cool! Im obsessed with her bouquet and the lamp lights. You did an amazing job
Willow Flower Co. did an amazing job with the dried bouquet! Plus you can keep it as a keepsake afterwards 😉
Snowy elopements are soooo beautiful! Love the moments you captured and the locations your explored around Canmore!
Canmore is underrated! I feel Banff gets all the hype for destination weddings in the Rockies but Canmore is so much quieter.
Love your style so much. These are beautiful and I love their full-day experience! Making me want to go to Canmore!
