Woah, what a year 2018 has been as Canada wedding photographers!

In a nutshell, we shot over 40 projects, travelled over 14,000 kilometers for elopements and adventure weddings, and we were featured 12 times in various publications from Rocky Mountain Bride to Confetti Magazine.

Favourite Photography of 2018

2018 was an amazing year of memorable moments for us as Canada wedding photographers. Not only did we launch a successful photography business together that took off faster than we could have ever anticipated, we got to experience once-in-a-lifetime memories with couples tying the knot. From the most intimate elopements to the wildest adventure weddings, we had the opportunity to hike, trek, and helicopter with couples.

Some of our favourite moments that come to mind when reflecting on 2018 are watching the sun rise as we hovered above Mt. Assiniboine for a helicopter elopement, the craziest rainbow before an oncoming thunderstorm at this Moraine Lake elopement, seeing all the love and handmade detail that went into a fairytale farm wedding at The Gathered, finishing off with beers and SUPs for a paddleboard elopement, and getting to capture two total badass babes on their motorcycles for an engagement session.

Wait a sec.. who the heck are we in the first place?

Looking Ahead for Canada Wedding Photographers

For Liam and I, 2018 was a whirlwind year. Liam completed his first 80km ultra marathon in Squamish, a major running milestone. I honed in on our Canada wedding photographer business and pushed my photography and editing skills past the comfort zone of just landscape work. We both quit our full-time corporate jobs this summer to take the leap and pursue our passion to create the best life we want to live.

We took a Ford Transit van and converted her into the ultimate adventure mobile. Living in our campervan full-time means more time for location scouting epic elopement photography spots and allowing us to travel across Canada and beyond to capture wild love stories and adventure weddings. Newfoundland, anyone? 😉 Projects never end though, and we’re already planning for upgrades and things we’d like to add.

Taking two full months to build the van from top to bottom left us with a few weeks off before our last wedding of 2018. So we took our van on her maiden voyage to Northern Vancouver Island, where we explored rugged PNW roads in the most remote and untamed forests of the northern island.

Now that we have a 6-week break between winter weddings in 2019, we decided to really show what this van is made of and drive straight down from Canada to Baja California, Mexico!

Thank You from Two Travelling Adventure Wedding Photographers

As I sit here writing this post on a beach somewhere in Mexico, I cannot begin to describe how grateful we are for this experience. Grateful for having the courage to ditch the 9-5 and follow a lifelong passion for photography. Grateful for the means to build a campervan and pursue a life with freedom in the outdoors. And most importantly grateful for couples who share our photography vision and entrust us in capturing their special day.

This dream would be nothing without the amazing people we get to call clients. From heartwarming family members who make us feel right at home, to couples who choose to elope just the two of them and allow us the privilege to be not only their photographers, but their witnesses too.

To all the couples that say yes to mountain air and messy hair, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. <3
